FAQ’s – Homeschool Programs

Will I be able to see the campus and meet the instructors?

Are you new to Talcott’s programs? Would you like to meet the instructors and see the Center? An orientation evening for families is scheduled for Monday, April 1, from 4-5pm. Families who are enrolled in Spring 2024 classes will automatically receive details when they are available. If you are not enrolled and would like information on how you can attend, please email jpellino@tmsc.org for more information.

What is the schedule for a typical day in the program?

Students work with their instructor for a 2 1/2 hour morning and 1 hour afternoon session. Snack will be at 10:30am, and lunch and recess will be outdoors (weather permitting) from 12:10 – 12:30pm. Each course will have classroom/lab activities on-site weekly, and will also link to lesson/activity summaries on the web as links to outside references, resources and activities.

How does my child get to Talcott?

Transportation to and from Talcott is by car. When you arrive, you’ll cue up in the car drop-off line. The standard process is to “stop, drop & go,” so we have a smooth flow through the parking lot. This is the same process for pickups at 1:30pm.

What does my child need to bring?

All students should bring a snack and lunch, and dress appropriately for the weather. Weather permitting, students will be outdoors at lunch and recess.

What are the health guidelines at Talcott?

Masks are currently optional at TMSC. We follow local health district guidelines. If they change, we will inform families and follow those. If your child is ill or has a fever or symptoms of a communicable disease, please keep them home.
