SUMMER PROGRAM INSTRUCTORS, TALCOTT MOUNTAIN SCIENCE CENTER – Part-time
Seeking energetic, creative and motivated Summer Program Instructors for summer employment in a dynamic, team-based environment. In this role, the primary responsibility is delivering innovative, hands-on, inquiry-based learning experiences for K-2, 3-5 or 6-8 grade students at Talcott Mountain Science Center. Courses are one week in length, running from June 24 through August 16, 2024, and we are seeking instructors for Geocaching; Lights, Camera, Action; Kitchen Chemistry; Arduino Engineering; Code Hackers; and Camp Invention, among others. Instruction will include classroom, lab, and field settings on campus and field trips for certain courses. In addition to instructional duties, this role also includes bus duty and encompasses student supervision for campus-wide activities, games, contests & presentations, and lunch & recess periods. SUMMER ON-SITE NURSE, TALCOTT MOUNTAIN SCIENCE CENTER – Part-time
Seeking an On-site Nurse for weekly, part-time summer employment at our Avon, CT, campus during the following weeks: July 15-19, July 22-26, July 29-August 2, August 5-9, and August 12-16. Duties include staffing the health office for our classroom-based summer program that serves students in kindergarten through eighth grade. Additional responsibilities include administering first-aid, family supplied medications, and attending to health issues that arise during the day. The work day is 8:30AM to 4:00PM, with students on campus from 9:00AM to 4:00PM Monday through Friday. Each week hosts approximately 60-100 students in kindergarten through eighth grade on campus daily. LEARN MORE >
