Welcome to the Talcott Mountain Science Center & Academy, where students in grades K-8 embark on a thrilling journey of discovery and learning! Let us nurture your child’s passion for science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) through hands-on learning in one or more of the following programs:

Talcott Mountain Academy — Where K-8 gifted and talented students thrive in a fun, challenging and supportive environment. With a full curriculum, differentiated instruction, and passionate teaching staff, students learn to ask questions, find answers, and unlock their full potential.

STEM Programs at Talcott Mountain — Encourage learning year-round with Talcott’s Summer of STEM Adventures, and Saturday & School Vacation programs for students in grades K-8. Talcott’s carefully crafted programs spark your child’s innate sense of curiosity with hands-on experiments and creative learning inspired by science and our mountaintop campus. As a result, they’re fully engaged in the learning process which helps them develop their teamwork, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. Ultimately, children realize that learning is fun, and they develop a love of learning that lasts a lifetime. Talcott students are gearing up to test their memory in our Pi Day Contest this Friday, March 14! They'll be competing to see who can recite the most digits of Pi, and you can SHOW YOUR SUPPORT for their efforts by joining our PI DAY GIVING CHALLENGE! Pledge a donation for each digit in the winning answer and help us reach our goal of $3,141.59! (What else would it be, right?)

HERE'S HOW IT WORKS:

1️⃣ MAKE YOUR PLEDGE – Submit your pledge online by 10 AM on Friday, March 14. You’ll:
--Choose how much you’ll donate per digit recited by the winning student.
--Guess how many digits they’ll recite for a chance to win Talcott swag!

2️⃣ TUNE IN ON PI DAY! – Check Facebook, Instagram, or your email to see who the winning student is and how many digits they correctly recalled.

3️⃣ CONFIRM YOUR DONATION – The week of March 17, you'll receive your final pledge total and a link to complete your donation via email.

4️⃣ WIN A PRIZE! – If you guessed the exact number of digits recited, you win! 🎉

Exciting news! TMSCA Earth Science Teacher Kaitlyn Roberts has been selected to participate in the American Meteorological Society’s Project Atmosphere this summer! 🎉
 
This incredible professional development experience, hosted at the National Weather Service in Missouri, will provide her with cutting-edge tools, data, and innovations to enhance our weather and climate courses. Funded by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Project Atmosphere combines online learning and hands-on training in the latest atmospheric science, allowing teachers to bring real-world meteorology into their classrooms.
 
Not only will Mrs. Roberts gain valuable insights, but she’ll also have the opportunity to train other educators in our community, expanding the impact of weather education for students everywhere! 🌦️📚
