Computer Science/Technology Instructor & IT Specialist
[Full-time (Academic Year); Part-time (Summer)]
The Computer Science/Technology Instructor & IT Specialist is a member of the Talcott Mountain Science Center & Academy teaching faculty, providing direct K-8 (with future opportunities to include secondary programming) instruction in the fields of robotics, coding, and all other aspects of computer science. As the IT specialist, this role oversees all aspects of the Organization’s information technology infrastructure and operations, including providing support and troubleshooting for student and staff hardware and software, and coordinating with third-party technology services. Summer Program Instructors (Weekly; Part-time)
TMSCA is seeking energetic, creative and motivated Summer Program Instructors for summer employment in a dynamic, team-based environment. In this role, the primary responsibility is delivering innovative, hands-on, inquiry-based learning experiences for K-2, 3-5 or 6-8 grade students at Talcott Mountain Science Center. Summer On-Site Nurse (Weekly; Part-time)
TMSCA is seeking an On-site Nurse for weekly, part-time summer employment at our Avon, CT, campus during the following weeks:
July 21-25 | July 28-August 1 | August 4-8 | August 11-15
Duties include staffing the health office for our classroom-based summer program that serves students in kindergarten through eighth grade. Additional responsibilities include administering first-aid, family supplied medications, and attending to health issues that arise during the day. The work day is 8:30AM to 4:00PM, with students on campus from 9:00AM to 4:00PM. Each week hosts approximately 60-100 students in kindergarten through eighth grade on campus daily.
