Volunteer

From retirees to college students, diverse opportunities exist for volunteers to share their expertise with students.

As a volunteer at Talcott Mountain Science Center, Academy, & Research Institute, you have the opportunity to instill a lifelong love of learning in children while fostering their intellectual and personal development.

You can inspire and motivate students — helping them unlock their potential and pursue their dreams. Moreover, through volunteering, you gain the satisfaction of contributing to the betterment of your community, as well as the chance to develop valuable skills, expand your network, and boost your own personal growth.

Turn your talents into volunteerism!

We have an emergency radio operator teaching Amateur Radio and Wireless Communications; college students mentoring for History Day projects and writing and teaching courses related to their fields of study. We also have STEM professionals volunteering as mentors and judges for students participating in the Connecticut Invention Convention and the Connecticut Science & Engineering Fair.

Astronomy experience:

We’re also always looking for individuals who can help with maintenance and repair of scientific or astronomy equipment, and join us during our skygazing events.

Have a specific skill or talent you’d like to share? Contact us! We’d be happy to talk with you and discuss how your talents could benefit the Talcott community.

For more information about how you can get involved, please email Christine at cbuhler@tmsc.org or call 860-677-8571, x220.
