TMRI STEM Adventure Travel

TMRI’s STEM Adventure Travel programs extend our mission as a pioneering STEM institution—one where education, research, and outreach inspire and empower advanced and curious learners—beyond the classroom and into the world itself. These journeys pair rigorous scientific content with direct experience, inviting participants to encounter natural phenomena, landscapes, and cultures in ways that deepen understanding and spark wonder. Guided by TMRI’s STEM professionals, each experience blends observation, discussion, and reflection. From total solar eclipses to future explorations of skies, remote environments, and humans’ ways of knowing, TMRI-hosted travel treats the entire world as a classroom and catalyst for learning.

Travel registration is through a third party site.
Talcott Mountain Research Institute and travel organizers will be in communication with registrants prior to the travel dates.

Total Solar Eclipse 2027: Egypt

2027 holds a special celestial event. Join TMRI in Egypt in August 2027 for a total solar eclipse. The ten-day journey will carry the group from Cairo to Aswan with part of the trip a river cruise along the Nile. Participants will see temples and tombs, explore ancient sites, and witness the August 2 total solar eclipse at midday from historic Luxor, which sits right along the path of totality. With more than six minutes of totality, this eclipse will be one of the longest of the 21st century.
