You’ll begin the evening in our planetarium with a guided tour of the constellations and celestial objects visible in the night sky. Then you’ll take a short walk outside to our observatories for viewing! Use our powerful telescopes to view Saturn\, Venus at sunset\, and possibly even catch a glimpse of early Draconid meteors! \nPlease remember to dress warmly in layers; we’ll be outdoors for much of the evening. This community project aims to bring together diverse people\, organizations\, and ideas “Under One Roof” and collectively exhibit works of art prepared by participating organizations based on the theme. \nUnder the direction of TMA’s Art Teacher\, Katie Larsen\, and with input from faculty\, staff and students\, TMSCA has created a striking canvas that is included in this exhibit and reflects this year’s theme: Resilience. \nThis event is free and the gallery is open to the community during JCC open hours. This Exhibit runs from May 6 – June 27. We hope you’ll make it a point to stop by and celebrate the creative talents and vital work of the community organizations and agencies in our community.

DESCRIPTION:Join us for an unforgettable evening of stargazing at Talcott Mountain Science Center’s mountaintop campus!  You’ll begin your night with a guided constellation tour in our planetarium\, followed by outdoor telescope viewing under the stars. \nWith our powerful telescopes\, we’ll search for stars\, planets (including Mars)\, deep sky objects\, and more! \nBecause much of the program takes place outdoors\, please dress for the weather — anticipating cooler temperatures on the mountain than in the surrounding towns.
